November 9th


Officers Present:

President Noah Butler, Secretary Whitney McBride, Reporter Matt Sanford, Parliamentarian Brianne Borders.

Representatives Present:

Media Arts – Christian Cauthen, C.S.O./ Food Relations – Crystal Adams, Caddo – Justin Pierce.

President Noah Butler called the meeting to order.

All rose for the Pledge Of Allegiance. Secretary Whitney McBride read the previous meeting minutes. Jessica Soto made a notion to accept and President Butler seconded.

Reporter Matt Sanford read the upcoming week’s Announcements.
Old Business:

An event hosted by the Media Arts Club in conjunction with the SGA, ” Howl After Dark” , will take place Wednesday, November 14 at the Dog House Cafe. The event is geared towards an acoustic atmosphere with poetry and acoustic musical performances by some of Panola’s finest.

The Carthage Christmas Parade will take place on December 3rd. The SGA in conjunction with the Media Arts Club have formed a committee and are now making plans for a float that will represent the school. More information on this will be coming soon!

New Business:

President Butler recognized Macayla Frisinger as the representative for a new Needlework  Club. The constitution was read and the signatures were reviewed.  After reviewing all of the necessary information, President Butler made a notion to accept the Needlework Club. Reporter Matt Sanford seconded. All were in favor, none opposed. Congratulations to the Needlework Club! Meetings will be held every Monday from 2pm to 3pm in the Art Room.

The SGA is taking part in a canned food drive in conjunction with Wiley College of Marshall. This food drive titled ” Fill The Bus” will be donating canned foods to East Texas Food Bank as well as other food banks around East Texas. On Thursday, November 15th the SGA will be going door to door in Carthage collecting canned foods for the drive. The canned foods collected will be taken to Wiley College in Marshall on Friday between 12pm and 2pm to be combined and donated.Extra credit may be provided for student participation at your professor’s discretion.  For more information on how you can be involved in this event please contact an SGA officer.

President Butler made a notion to release $30.00 from the SGA funds for the Media Arts Club to provide certain needs for the upcoming “Howl After Dark” event. All were in favor, none opposed.

Monday the SGA along with the Girls’ Volleyball Team will be teaming up with Mr. Alan Moon to adorn Panola campus in Christmas decorations.
