President Noah Butler called the meeting to order.
All rose for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Secretary Whitney McBride read the previous meeting minutes. Noah Butler made a motion to accept the reading of the minutes. Jessica Soto seconded with all in favor.
The Chair called for a discussion on the progress of the 5k event.A band has been selected to play the music for the 5k event immediately following the run. The group, Danny Paul Windham and the Pine Topper View, along with Chasing Stables, has offered to play free of charge for the event.
The Chair made a motion to accept the two groups. Amye Powers seconded with all in favor.
Mr. Naples made a proposal that all vendors for booths at the event following the run be allowed to participate with a donation of any amount instead of the original $50 fee.The Chair called for a discussion and after no discussion was necessary, made a motion to accept the donation proposal.
Mia Jones seconded with all in favor.
Mr.Naples made a motion to elect someone to fire the starter gun for the 5k.
After a brief discussion, The Chair made a motion to elect Dr. Powell to begin the race.
All were in favor.
The Chair called for a discussion concerning the 5k t-shirts
After reviewing the different options, it was decided that green shirts with white lettering would be selected as this year’s t-shirt colors.
The Chair closed the discussion.
The Chair made a motion to accept the green and white coloring. Amye Powers seconded with all in favor.
The Chair called for a discussion on Voter Registration.
The SGA will hold a Voter Registration table during the Health Fair and the Spring Fling on March 6th. The booth will allow for anyone who has not yet registered in Panola County the chance to do so before voting begins.
The Chair recognized Food Representative, Crystal Adams who encouraged everyone to take a few minuted to take the Cafeteria evaluation survey. Josh Renfro was elected to discuss the possibility of placing the survey link on the Panola webpage with Mrs. Beasley in order to make the survey more accessible.
The Chair made a brief overview of the progress accomplished by the Video Committee. Some ideas were expressed concerning the video submissions and what content the videos should have. More information concerning the Video Contest to follow.
